It's 1:55 AM and I have to get up in like five hours for a court date in Portland. Yeah, I'm so gonna crash tomorrow. I just hope it won't be one that leaves me grumpy and cranky and generally mad at the world. That makes me sad and uncomfortable and I become hell to deal with so the world gets all sad and mad at me and then we'll all become unhappy. It's a vicious cycle that happens every time and at some point, you would think I would get a clue and grow up already, but... I'm still working on it.

Anyway, it's off to Portland we go! Hopefully we'll get some nice food -- I'm hoping for either Chinese or Pho because we've done sushi the last five or so times and I'm started to get annoyed by it. We'll also pick up some more sushi ingredients to make our own rolls so that will be nice as well. And I want bubble tea -- I'm so in withdrawal. I haven't had it in like a month.

So, it's Monday and I survived the weekend of hellish heat! Most of it was spent either sweating profusely wishing I was in an air conditioned room or actually being in an air conditioned room. My parents have finally decided to come over to the new house to avoid the heat at nights so it's nice to have the family all here. Kent was even here last night too. But he went back so it's all sad again. But having parents around is not always that great seeing as they like their children to be offline at nice respectable hours and not up past dawn. I make due though. I have lots of books to keep me company in my room and by hiding there, it makes it harder for them to reign me in and make me go to sleep. I feel so teenager-like. :)

Anyway, over the weekend while I was stuck basically in my room with my books, I decided to whip out my Kimeru CDs and my old CD player (I can't believe the thing still works! It's so beat up) and listen to them. And I realized how I've almost never actually listened to any of Kimeru's CDs on a CD player before. I've always popped them into my computer, ripped them and then listened to the tracks as I did stuff on my computer.

So it was nice hearing all the stuff I normally wouldn't listen to like the live recordings or the instrumentals. I had a nice time of it. And it forced me to listen to some of the tracks that I didn't particularly love to death as well, plus some old songs as well. I really adore old Kimeru and it's not often that I would go back and listen to that sort of stuff. Outside of today, I can't even remember when I had last listened to Chain of Mind or Make You Free. But I'm catching up on it now. *sigh* Kimeru is such a balm to the soul.

Well, I've wasted the last fifteen minutes. I think I have to go to sleep now... Getting too little sleep really isn't that high on my priority list.

It's hard to explain, but sometimes even an iPod can't really capture the sounds that a CD player has to it. The feel of the disc spinning in your hand, the way you know the artist put so much time and effort into making it, it kind of gives you a more personalized experience.

But I'm with you. I have NO IDEA where my poor CD player is. You know what? I'm going to go find it, RIGHT NOW. :D
