Wildfire...:(

So...there's a wild fire on Frankton. And it's spread near 30th St. Which is right where our house is. So yeah we're concerned, just a bit.

And damn Diana just won't answer her phone. You'ld think that with such a big thing happening so near our house, she'll be on hand.

It's so bad that I can smell the smoke... The winds are blowing strong but we're the freaking Gorge, the winds are always blowing strong. And of course, it's been practically a month since we've had any rain at all...

And we just don't know how our house is doing. The entire area has been evacuated... Oh, dear, an ambulance just went by... I'm guessing someone got hurt... :(

This sucks, this totally sucks. It's a pretty new house and I have ALL my stuff there. My books, my computer, my external harddrive, my stuffed animals that I've had since I was a little girl... My clothes! I mean oh my god...

I'm watching the news but there's like no information at all which of course doesn't make us feel any better! We don't know how many houses are affected, if any at all, we don't know how it started and we don't know if whatever they're doing to stop it is doing any good... And no information is very bad in this case...

I'm just way too freaked out about this... I'm going to hope that everything is okay, the evacuations are a precaution (they do that, right?) and the most damage we'll have is smoke damage...

I don't know if we're going to be able to go home tonight. :(

edit x1: Okay, feeling a bit better now. NWCN sucks when they said the fire had spread 100 acres. They really suck. KGW however has said it's contained (yes!), that it did scorch some land which prompted the evacuation and that it was only about 40 acres which is way less than 100. I'm feeling good I think. Of course, until we can go home and see if there was any damage to the house, but at least I'm not freaking any more. It really is better to get as much news as possible. Either way, at least you know something which is the important thing.

D: I'm glad everything is alright, that's horribly scary. My mom got fire proof safety boxes for all of our paperwork and jewelry. But so much would still be lost.

quite a while ago, I think I saw you comment on one of tag's lj posts about EFC? and I posted in my asking if anyone knew if you where that ILLK, and you found my post somehow and said you were. and today I was looking at tag's user info and saw you there, and was reminded.
