I found some raw Major scans. OH MY GOD. ALL OF THEM. Volumes 1-74.
I don't suppose anyone out there with good editing skills will like to join me in a joint Major scanlation project? It's ambitious and I know it probably will never happen unless I find a group out there who would be interested in taking this monster on so I think in the mean time, I'll just be reading it... I almost want to skip ahead to the end but...but...but... I don't want to spoil the anime. I want to take in the manga as it was written, with all the extra stuff that was cut out of the anime and...and...and...I just want to love Major the way it's supposed to be loved.
But damn, 74 volumes! Even if I were translating it, it would take me how long? At about 20 pages per chapter... When I was doing yaoi, I counted 8 pages a night, a good night. When I was doing shoujo, it was around 10-12 pages. This is probably more towards the shoujo since it's a shounen manga for a younger audience but I think it would still take years. I'm not even sure it's possible with one person trying to translate it. o.O
Yeah, maybe I should just stick with just trying to read it. After all, it'll only help my Japanese, right?

on 2010-04-20 12:20 pm (UTC)I know there are some scanlations but not in order as a group started (And stop?) the first 5 vol while another group seems to be tackling volume 66.
The good thing is you have most of the plot already from the anime ^^

on 2010-04-20 12:30 pm (UTC)There are some scanlators and I've just asked the people trying to do volume 66 since they seem to be still releasing if they're interested but I haven't gotten a response.
I've started reading it from the first volume and it doesn't seem all that difficult. I always did find shounen manga a bit easier to read than yaoi ones... And since there some volumes/chapters out already, I can always just start up where people have left off and it'll be at least a bit shorter.
