Rereading Haru wo Daiteita has made me incredibly happy.

God, I had forgotten just how much I really love this series. I think it quite possibly is my most favorite yaoi series ever. There's just something so incredibly refreshing reading about a couple who switch and have a long lasting, committed relationship.

I just can't keep myself from grinning while reading it, or really, even the thought of it has me smiling like crazy. *sigh* If only that scandal never happened and Nitta-sensei had been allowed to continue it further rather ending it like this... I'm not ready for the end yet! I still want more Iwaki and Katou! :(

Do you know where I can download it, by any chance? :)

Boo, messed it up... Trying again...

You can get it all if you join the [livejournal.com profile] youka_nitta LJ comm.

The download links (after you've joined) can be found here: http://community.livejournal.com/youka_nitta/201443.html for volumes 1-6 and there are further links to the rest of the series. Hopefully all the links work but if not, I have all the volumes and can upload them if you want.

Awesome! :) I always saw this series posted at yaoi_daily a few years ago but tbh the art put me off at the time...Then again I was young and shallow :P heh. Now I think I appreciate a good story far more than my preference for the art. Thank you!

The art gets better though! And the story has such substance that I really think this is one manga that all yaoi fans should read at least once. It's good, really, really good.

Oh it's not that the art is BAD per se, but it's more anime looking and...blocky? than I'm used to for manga styles in particular. And I can tell it's good because I'm a few pages in and already enjoying myself immensely ;) ♥

Yay! I hope that means there's another HwD convert! ^^

And yeah, the manga style is a bit different from the typical pretty manga type but it does get a bit better with time.

The thing that kills me about the whole scandal is that if you look at famous American comic illustrations such as Greg Land, they obviously and blatantly copy photographs nonstop and take no shame in doing so. Why Nitta-sensei had such a hard time I have no idea, it's really annoying. Greg Land is particularly egregious, just go look at the examples (http://jimsmashextended.blogspot.com/2008/07/greg-land-tracing-swiping-recycling.html).

I feel like these sort of things are so much more of a big deal in Japan than it is elsewhere...

While I don't condone tracing (couldn't they have all just uses these photos as references only?), I still don't think it's that horrible. As far as violating copyright, well, there are much more serious instances of that than tracing a photograph. *sigh* All in all, if HwD really has to end, I just hope Nitta-sensei will give us some oneshots of Katou and Iwaki in the future...
