PoT 124 Icons and Other Stuff That Might and Might Not Be Related

The earlier post made by me was written while I was not totally sane. Amiable018 emailed me through the Tenipri_ml on yahoogroups asking about the PoT scanlations I have. See, I'm a religious PoT manga fanatic who has enough knowledge of mIRC to get onto FET's channel and download their latest chapters so I'm pretty up to date when it comes to PoT manga.

I made a comment on Tenipri_ml that if a person had a Streamload account (love my to bits and pieces!), I could send them the latest chapters since I had up to 227 (their current update at the time). And then Amiable018 contacted me privated to ask for some way to get them from me. She told me she didn't understand mIRC and didn't have Streamload and wanted them anyway. Understanding as I was since I used to be in the same sort of situation, I pointed her towards Streamload anyway.

For some reason Streamload is really nice to freeloaders so I knew it would be okay. They've amended their decision about the 30 day trial. Now they never expire and freeloaders get 100 MBs renewed each month. All the other restrictions (10 MB per file) still applied though and that's perfectly acceptable for manga chapters since none of the PoT ones are over 10 MB.

So she got her trial account and I sent her what I had which was 209-229 (since I had just gotten 228-229 off of FET). Turns out she stopped at chapter 36 (yes, you read that right, 36!!) and wanted 37-208. For one thing, Mangacity stopped at 62 (and I was missing 61-62 too!) and FET started at 158 so I couldn't send 63-157 to her even if I wanted to. Another thing was that I didn't have the older chapters on hand.

I usually don't like the zips and either delete or burn them on CDs to get them out of the way so it was either gone or hidden in my CD collection and I have like a ton of CDs. I woke up at 5:45 AM today to check on my downloads and I read the email from her telling me she wanted the old stuff and I ended up doing a mad search for the CD, not finding it and then finding it only to find I was missing some chapters that she needed. So in an effort to help her, I went to redownload the ones I was missing. Big mistake.

I know, I know, it's my fault. If I didn't want to help, I shouldn't have offered but still... Who the hell stops at 36? Chapter 36 was released like over a year ago. If she can't work mIRC and didn't have Streamload she must have gotten it at the Mangacity site before the manga got licensed and if she got it then, why the hell didn't she download the rest of them when they came out? I don't understand that. Someone's not a big PoT manga fan...

Anyway, I did end up downloading it all but my 6:00 projected sleep time ended up at 7:45. Whoops. And I needed to go to The Dalles for some shopping. I didn't end up going. I decided I need to go to sleep more than I need to be in The Dalles. Besides, it's The Dalles. It's not like I was missing much.

I did get chapter 230 out of it though. Who would have thought? Even in their channel, they didn't say they had released 230 yet so I wouldn't have even known to download it. Lucky!

I also got those two Mangacity PoT chapters I was missing, 61 and 62. And I got a new chapter of Bleach! Yay! Not only that, but I found DN http links! :D Sherry happy.

And today was a productive day! I've made some new icons so please take a look. Some are random but most are made from the screenshots I took of PoT 124. There's a couple of Kimeru ones too. I got new pics so I make new icons.

Most are Fuji related because I love my Fuji. My favorites is probably number 5, 10, 12 and 14. Number 3 is also good.

There are also a few Mizuki/Yuuta ones even though I don't really agree with this pairing. I had to do the Yumiko one. I mean it's the first time I've seen her in the anime -- I had to do it.

There aren't as many icons this time but I was really fed up with most of the screenshots I took and PS Elements was behaving oddly so I didn't want to play with it too long.

These are my Kime icons! I love Kimeru so much! I wish I could buy his DVD&CD together but I'm not really sure how to work anything but CDJapan and they're overpriced... I wish I could order it off of Amazon Japan I don't even know where to begin! It's all in Japanese and I don't really understand anything...

Anyway, here are the icons.



The first photo I found on Yahoo Auctions Japan and the next two were found from his pictures in Hyper Pop Beat magazine. The next two were found off of the website that Kimeru had talked about on his column that had his items for sale... I think the last one is from his new DVD or CD. I really like the fourth one because it's just so cute.

And now that I look at it, it looks like as if the second and fourth one are the same picture... I don't know.. The background is different but the tilt of the head is the same...

The last pic is so blurry! For one I had words that I felt like fit the picture so well but the picture sucks. I really wish I had a better picture for that one icon....

These are odd icons that I made just because...



This is my one animated gif. It was so freaking annoying to make that I never want to touch animed gifs again. But I know I will. For now, I'm happy with the one even though it's not as good as it could have been. I wanted to make a Initial D icon so badly with the words "like a ryuusei" (like a shooting star) because that was my favorite line in move's song "Dogfight". But one single picture didn't seem to cut it -- I wanted motion so that's where this icon came from.



This one is from a pic of Harlem Beat by Kazusa Takashima (one of my favorite mangakas) that I downloaded. It was from a pic that was just so cool that I knew I wanted to do something with it because it felt like a waste not to.

Lastly, this is my favorite of all my random icons:



It's of my Akina monkey! I took this pic when I just got my new digital camera and I was playing around with taking random pics. This was one of them. It's a stuff animal, one of those with really long arms and legs with velcro at the paws so they could stick together and you could hang him off of your neck or head or something. I got him at a White Elephant Christmas party and almost everyone wanted him. I was lucky -- I was the one who got him. He came with a tag that said he was a Japanese snow monkey and that his name was "Akina" so he was already named. I didn't care -- it was a neat name. It reminded me of Initial D since Takumi's home course was Mt. Akina. The tag also said the monkeys in Japan liked to take baths and hang out at the hot spring baths and I just got an image of my Akina-monkey at the onsen holding a towel at the top of his head and sitting in the hot springs. LOL, it was so cute! I love my Akina-monkey. I am so tempted to go off of my Kimeru icons and use him for my defult.

I downloaded a raw for the first time, PoT 124 so this will be prime material for some icons. Hopefully I'll get some good Ryoma and Tezuka ones... I haven't watched it yet but I heard Tezuka hits Ryoma... O.o I'm sorta scared about watching it...

Ah, before I go, I'm going to post this pic that I said I would of my Isumi plushie. He's just so cute.



He's about 3 inches tall and he is just adorable! And he was my one great find on eBay (so damn cheap at $2!). I almost like him more than my Touya and Shindo plushies... Almost. I'm not totally crazy. But he is so very cute...

This song I'm listening to is Andy Lau's 999 Roses. I'm usually not a big Andy Lau fan but this one time, I made an exception. My sister sent me this song and it's so good. It's in Mandrian so I don't really understand it but I think I'm picking up some words. He's originally a Cantonese speaker (the kind born in HK so originally only Cantonese speaker) and a bit of his pronounciations are a bit off in that they sound a bit Cantonese... It's kinda of a soft, odd song. I wish I could find translated lyrics for it.
