When did they change the way LJ-cuts work? Because now instead of opening a new page, they just expand... I don't like it, not just because I'm generally resistant to change (although that is a large part of it) but because I use my LJ to read fic and I like reading a fic in a new page rather than directly on my flist... It just makes me think of all those times an author had messed up on an LJ cut and I had to read fic that had clutter all around it (nevermind that clutter is my flist and my own LJ)....

Is there a way to turn it off? Bring back to how it used to be? Because I would definitely be interested in something like that.

I'm not sure but I don't think LJ cuts ever opened in a new window, except if authors used those fake-LJ cuts to redirect you to another page. Anyway, you could right-click to open in a new tab/window, I guess...

(even if that didn't really help) - MajinSakuko : )

Ah, I didn't mean open in a new window/tab, just opened a new page within the same window/tab as the flist was currently in. Now it just expands and you stay on your flist... I guess I could do manually and just switch to it but I'm going to miss it doing it automatically...

I've been noticing that too. O.o it weirds me out.. I hope they switch back or make it an option or something.

I really wish LJ would make things an option for the users whenever they roll out new updates... It certainly would make things easier on us...

I hate the new collapse thingy too! Part of the fun of LJ is being rerouted about, and there's always been the option to view things in my own style if I hated someone else's. Ugh, people.

Yes! That's exactly it! I was thinking about why I was feeling so resistent to not leaving my flist because it seems easier and convenient for it to just expand but you're absolutely right. One of the best part of LJ is feeling like we belong in a small community. Every cut is an invitation to leave your own LJ and visit someone else's. Now I'm feeling slightly more isolated... :(
