I noticed today that there was a new free Virtual Gift, a Halloween themed Pumpkin Cookie and I tried sending it to everyone on my flist but about a third of the way through, it said I wasn't allowed to send any... T_T
So apologies to my latter 2/3 part of my flist, I tried but it wouldn't let me send any more Pumpkin Cookies. Next time I'll start at the end of the alphabet and work my way up so I don't keep hitting the same people and missing the same ones over and over again.
But this begs the question, when did they start limiting the amount of V-Gifts you could send? It wasn't like that before! I remember, I basically bombed my flist with free V-Gifts whenever they came around... It was like this last time as well but I thought that was a momentary bug but I guess now that it's happened twice to me, it's something that's staying around for a while. Does anyone know how many we are allowed to send? I wonder if the fact that I'm a Free/Basic user makes much of a difference? :\
Anyway, today is Halloween so happy Halloween to everyone! I'm spending my last few hours of freedom watching a movie since I have about $4 of credit to use over at Amazon's Instant Video store... And I'm planning on banging out an tentative outline for NaNo. I tried sitting down and doing it yesterday but then I got freaked out and I didn't.
Outlines, they're scary. It's such a commitment, deciding how you want your story to go and how it will go. I have it somewhat planned out in my head but I know it's not nearly good enough. The NaNo Tumblr says if you're a fly by the seat of your pants-er, you should push yourself to do an outline. So I am. But damn if they don't scare the hell out of me.
But I'm committed to at least trying, so that's what I'm going to do tonight (while I avoid trick-or-treaters since I have no candy). I have a grande Pumpkin Spice Latte to help ease the pain of it...
This is actually the first time I've had Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte, believe it or not. I adore Pumpkin Pie and I use a variation of the pumpkin pie spice for my oatmeal cookies so I really do love the taste of pumpkin spice. Have you tried Dairy Queen's Pumpkin Pie Blizzard? Delicious! It was October's Blizzard so this is probably the last day you can get it... Anyway, I don't know why I've never had the Pumpkin Spice Latte before. I think once upon a time ago, I tried it as one of those tiny cup samples and I was a bit overwhelmed by how strong it was and I never had it for real.
But today was Safeway's last $2 grande espresso drinks after 2PM so I decided to have it. The fact that it was only $2 and not the normal $4.60 (so overpriced T_T) makes it better so if I do still hate it, I wouldn't be upset that I spent almost $5 on something I didn't want to finish.
And I got to say, with the whipped cream, it's really not that bad. It's not overwhelming and I still can taste the coffee even if the overall flavor is the pumpkin spice. It's nice. It might not beat my soy toffee nut latte as my drink of choice but it's probably good every once in a while. I still don't quite get what makes people so obsessed over this drink though. From what I hear, people start counting down the days until they start selling it again in the summer. And they crave it all throughout the year when they aren't selling it. I doubt I'll ever become one of those people though.
But hey, they've finally started using the red cups at my local Starbucks. I guess this officially means the holiday season has started?
