Yesterday me and Xiao (the real spelling of her name, gomen-nasai for spelling it wrong all this time) went uptown. Today we went down to Chinatown to buy some groceries.

I know have a pound of bok choy (the lady tried to sell me 3 pounds!), a pound of bean sprouts, and one gai choy (a chinese vegetable that is slightly bitter). I have food for a week because I also bought some wontons, some MSG (because previously I lacked it), a bowl, a plate, a cutting board (I finally aquired one!), sugar (5 lbs! do you know how heavy 5 lbs is when you're walking?!), and some other stuff...

It was so long...

I finished my lab at about 10:00 and they told us we needed to go and check out a locker, so I go and I wait since there was a sign that says "Office Hours, 10:00AM-11:00AM and 1:00PM-2:00PM." It was just before 10 AM so me and some other students in my lab decided to wait. We waited until 10:20 and decide, hey, it's Saturday so the person probably isn't going to be coming and we leave.

We leave, and I went over to the bookstore to buy some goggles that are required for the course. I now have goggles.

I go back and I check on a few things and then I went over to Xiao's room. I ring the doorbell once and no one answers. I stand there for a bit and decide to try ringing it once more before leaving and trying it again later.

This time she answers me. I woke her up. I felt so bad! But it was 11:15 by that time, so it wasn't like it was incredibly early.

So she got ready and we started to go to Chinatown.

It really wasn't that far away since it was like maybe a 15-20 min. walk from Third North. We're on 12st and we needed to walk down until the number streets changed into actual names (past 1st street).

We got to Chinatown and we decided to concentrate on one street or two and next time we come, concentrate on a different street. We got through one street. We went to so many stores and shops, trying to remember who had the best prices on different things so we could get a good deal. Then after going through it, we decide to have lunch.

She took me to a real Shanghainese restaurant and we had some steamed pork buns that are like something they eat. They're not like the ones that I thought of -- the white, floury type with BBQ Pork in it. It was more like ground beef with a really liquidy sauce in a wrapper that was more like the type for those soup dumplings... Kinda like wonton but thicker, a bit like potstickers but thinner. You get my drift, right?

We also had a soupy thing that had a lot of stuff in it. It's hard to describe so I won't describe it too much.

We brought some back (since it was really huge pot of soup) and I have some in my fridge right now. :) Soup!

We then went back and it the stores for the cheapest stuff. Oh! And we went to the vegetable market behind Confuscius Plaza. They were so cheap! Grapes, 3 lbs for $1.00. Bok Choy, 2 lbs for $1.50. Potatoes, 2 lbs for $1! Wow! I wish I had a family that I could buy a full week's food for but I'm one person... :( Next time, when Xiao needs some veggies, we'll get some today.

Oh, and that's the place where the old woman tried to get me to buy 3 lbs. She just kinda started piling in 3 lbs of bok choy into a bag and I was like, hey, I just want one pound! I'm one person and it really was a ton of bok coy! It wasn't expensive but I can't eat all that unless I cook everyday, lunch and dinner!

We had so much stuff that it was killing us as we walked back. That's why we decided to take the bus instead. That was a lot better. The buses were okay but they weren't as cool as the subway trains.

We meant to make dinner today together but we got back kinda late and she had reserved the piano for practice so I we decided to make dinner tomorrow when we have time for it.

Oh, and I've realized I really like Kids Alive. They have this style of song that even comes through in the softest songs.

Kimeru DVD - Still no sign of it. Getting very anxious now...

Debit Card - No sign either. Getting very, very, very anxious. VERY ANXIOUS. Except I'm very tired right now... I feel like going to sleep right now, despite the early time.

I've got the Wild Stiker 2nd ED! I've been looking for it so long and finally run across in in this Italian WS site... So good! It's sung by Kokia by the way and is called "Tell Tell Bouzo." On a somewhat related but not really related note, the 1st ED is called "Mi Title" or something like that. It actually has a name. WOW.

One last notable: KARA CALLED ME!!! With Diana at Chinese school. It was so freaking funny and I just kinda left out Xiao when they called. And then I lost reception as I walked deeper into the store. I hope they don't think I hung up on them.

When we got out of the store, I tried calling back but I got forwarded to voicemail... :(

Gomen-nasai Kara! I did try to call you back...

Note to Self: Buy drinks.

edit x1 (though not really because I've tweaked this entry like three times already):

Good quote:

If you receive pain, you can sleep.

If you inflict pain, you cannot sleep.

Kara did think you hung up on her...

*lost reception*

Kara: Did she just hang up on me?
Me: Probably, she does that all the time.
Kara: Fine then, I won't call her anymore.

LOL.

If only you can send me that WS ED on mIRC. :( Or maybe that chinese Tension song. I have no idea what it sounds like.. Is it really that good?
