I've come to the conclusion that if I wanna start writing fanfiction again, I have to aim a little lower than going for a long, multichapter, multilayered story. I don't have the time or the patience and I really don't know the chacters all that well to undertake such a feat.

So I've decided that if I'm really serious about this (still on the fence about that), then I'll just have to start with baby steps, short, easy stories that help me get into the groove and hopefully familiarize me with the characters so that I can manipulate them with ease.

That sounds a lot easier than it really is.

I'm an idiot and a lazy one at that. I have a history of not finishing stories and being a review glutton. I really shouldn't be writing, really, really, really shouldn't be writing.

...but I might try it out again... Maybe I've matured in the last two years? *snorts* Yeah right.

Last note: Carrots taste funny.

You are absolutely right. One-shot stories are a lot easier to write, especially when you don't try to cover a very long period of time in a fic. I've seen many (good) authors never writing anything longer than 1,000-2,000 words.

Start with limiting the plot to a few scenes. It's less stressful than a multi-parter that eats your brain and inhabits your nightmares.

And if you do start writing again, I'll be the first to cheer :)
