I think I adore HIMYM.

Kent was right. I'm not sorry I started watching it. It's been four days, I'm two episodes from being caught up to this week's episode and it's awesome! And I adore NPH. I adore him even more now than before where I just thought of him as Doogie Howser, and as gay. And now I adore Barney. How is he so awesome? So cool!

The one problem? I ♥ Barney so much that I feel really sad that he's not happy... And when I want to see sad people happy, I naturally want to slash them. But he's Barney and the only person out there to slash him with is Ted and the whole show is about Ted meeting and falling in love with his two kids' mother. Unless somehow male pregnancy will be possible by 2015ish, I can't quite see the two of them together.

I guess I could do the whole het thing with Barney and Robin (but don't they get together sometime after the episode I'm currently watching and break up too?) but I don't really like Robin... I could never see why Ted thought she was as awesome as he did (does?), or why Barney suddenly decided she's awesome too. Maybe it's because she's his first real female friend? That's available anyway.

The one fic I did try reading, was not in character so I bailed before I even got halfway. It put me off on searching for more...which, at the time, I found out is supposedly pretty hard since no one writes Barney/Ted. And really, I can't see Barney/Ted all that realistically anyway. *sigh*

Eh, it doesn't really matter... NPH is so awesome that I can just watch him all day. Oh my god, it's like the more I watch him, the more I fall in love. I did the whole interview thing on Youtube yesterday. Although, there is one episode of the view from last year that has eluded me. And there's only one clip of their interview at the Paley Center (my favorite!)... :(

I'm so head over heels that I spent the night listening to his Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit from their 100th episode (I've rewatched so many times already that I've lost count even though the first time I saw it was only yesterday). And I went and downloaded the 61st Emmys and the Tonys from last year because he hosted both of them... And I've even downloaded his Get Psyched Mix to listen so I can be on the same psyched wavelength as he is (I will admit that most of the songs I've never heard of -- seriously is like ten years that big of a gap? -- and The Humpty Dance thoroughly grossed me out) when he listens to it.

The one problem with this whole thing is that I have a whole week's worth of TV built up on my computer. And everything's back! I haven't even watched The Amazing Race yet! Or even Chuck! The season finales of White Collar AND Psych!!! My god, there's so much TV... It's like everything I watch was finally all back (well, aside from B&S -- damn the Academy Awards). But it's all going to have to wait until the two episodes of HIMYM I have left and both the Emmys and Tonys. I think I'm going to watch the Tonys tonight -- NPH singing is like my drug now. I even got a craving to listen to the Dr. Horrible soundtrack tonight...

edit x1: Why the hell haven't I see Prop 8 - The Musical until now?! NPH has my heart forever!

IMG_4161Made cheese scones today, about two? one? week later than I was going to actually bang these out.

I think it was my worse experience baking ever. Not even pie crust making was this horrible. Baking utensils I'm buying next? A pastry cutter and a grater. Shaving a block of cheddar with a vegetable peeler isn't exactly easy on your hands. And trying to make a ball of dough out of something dry and crumbly is hell. In the end, I said screw it, and added the rest of the cream I had left and still it wasn't enough. That's when I grabbed a handful of water and it finally came together. My arms are killing me from the cheese and the crazy kneading. Gah, it sucked.

But thank god it was worth it in the end! This time my scones actually rose! Yay! ^^

The cheese in it was amazing... It was so soft and gooey inside where they melted... It was nice and crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside -- it was like biting into a Cheez-It cracker into a cloud of cheese. There was a little bit of cayenne added but while it gave the scones a nice little zing, it wasn't really enough. Eating it straight was okay, kinda bland so the first thought I had was that I needed something sweet so I added some jam. That was okay, certainly added a little something more to it but it wasn't enough.

And then by chance, I noticed the extra little packets of Hot Taco Bell sauce and inspiration struck. Yum! They work rather well with cheese, kinda surprising and kinda not. But it was good. I ended up gobbling three and half of them -- the half because at the end, I didn't have enough to make a whole scone so it was just lumped together into a tiny, mini, scone-like thing.

Oh, just a little TV talk now. Bits about the Amazing Race, Chuck, the 61st Emmys and the 2009 Tony Awards )

Now? What should I watch...House? Castle? Life Unexpected (Portland shout out yo!)?
