Aug. 30th, 2010 05:59 amSo Japan won! Everyone probably already knew it but I only watched it now after avoiding the news and TV for an entire day...
After I finished watching the Consolation game, I went to sleep for two hours and woke up at noon intending on watching it. But we don't exactly have a TV (we have one but no cable or satellite -- it's just for gaming and is usually just a really huge computer monitor most of the time) and since it was on ABC, it wasn't being streamed on ESPN3 so I had to find some other online source for it. The only problem was the only place I found it had it sputtering and freezing after ever few seconds and I was like screw that, and went back to sleep. Although, I did debate with myself with the intention of leaving the house searching for a TV but with two hours of sleep, I decided against it.
Thus, I spent the day avoiding talking to my father who most definitely saw the game at work. And to my brother who I know probably went and looked up the results as soon as he woke up. And I avoided the news and ESPN for the rest of the day, until the replay was put online on ESPN3.
And now I've watched it! I gotta say, I was rooting for Japan... I don't know why since I thought I would be rooting hard for Hawaii, as I've done for the last week and a half... But I was happy for Japan! I think Mizumachi Natsuki is just really cute and I was sooo pulling for him to get out of his hitting slump... He's an awesome pitcher and he's just wonderful on the mound but he's supposed to be this awesome hitter too but for some reason, he just wasn't connecting during this tournament... I hope he's not too down on himself for that -- he's really a large part of the reason why Japan made it to the final game in the first place so he really did do a lot.
And I can't help but adore Shinozaki Kaname, the catcher. I think ever since Major, I've had a thing for good pitcher-catcher batteries... Even more so, I've come out of watching the Little League World Series with a deep respect for good catchers and Shinozaki is a big part of the reason why.
I do think it's cool that the Japanese players went and got little bags of dirt from the field, like they would have done if they had gone to Koushien... I wonder if they're allowed to take dirt from a foreign country back to their country? Somehow, I think they might have to sneak it back in... (Not that I wouldn't do so if I were them -- that would totally be awesome.)
*sigh* Now that's all over... :( I'm sad to let it go and to see it end... It was definitely a wild and fun ride! I totally need to do this again next year. ^^
Now what? I guess to capitalize on the baseball high, I should continue translating Hanagata? I could probably get another few pages out before I go to sleep...

Aug. 30th, 2010 05:41 pmOh, Loki... He's just way too cool, way, way, way too cool...
Yay for this week's episode that finally shows Loki! And next week has more Loki! Yay! ^^
Now that I've watched that, I guess I'll go and play some more Plants vs. Zombies? And I'm definitely going to finish off chapter 11 of Hanagata... I had only planned on doing three pages last night but despite the large amount of text, it actually went really fast and I ended up doing twice as many pages. Which is good because that means I only have four more pages to go...
