Ne, Diana-chan did you ever download that Ekin song I put up a few days ago on my LJ?

If not, download it! I'm pimping it again! The link: 郑伊健 - 爸爸的汽水

I am seriously loving this song right now! You must download it! I'm starting to feel as though I kinda know what the song means, which is scary because my Chinese sucks ass -- especially when it comes to sung Chinese where they actually sing the song as it's written. Definitely not one of my strong points at all. Diana, I command you to download it! And to finally watch GTO! You must!

Everyone else, download the song too! It's Ekin Cheng, it's a nice little song, sweet... I don't fully understand the song, but I have an urge to post the lyrics so they follow. My favorite line is where he sings "我的不快乐和愤怒" around 2:19 (he sounds so ominous and so dark that it sends chills down my spine but it's still wonderful!). I really wish I had a concrete translation of this song into English... :(

In other news, I'm currently eating the takoyaki I bought today at Sunset. Sooo yummy. This makes me even more determined to to hit Otafuku sometime soon because to have it fresh must be even better. I only bought a bag of 20 but I think I might exhaust them all today. I'm already wanting to make more of them... Sherry ♥ takoyaki. The subtle ginger flavor makes me melt -- I love ginger flavor! I hate eating ginger pieces (unless they're sweetly pickled) but the flavor is incomparable.

And I'm enjoyed a Jones soda... They really are the best sodas out there. I'm currently having the Orange & Cream Soda one, my favorite of all the Jones sodas... Yummy! And I'm making a sweet Chinese herbal tea too. I've been craving sweets and somehow I know it'll be just the thing. :)

Ah, I think I will have some more of those takoyaki. Sooo good and the taste of them is lingering in my mouth so it makes me want more... *sigh* Takoyaki...

You speak Cantonese? O.O

Well I guess I should have know you were Chinese with a last name like "Wang"... Still, I don't know why but I've always thought you were white before I knew your last name (even now I sometimes forget).

And thank you!!! If you can tell me what he's saying, I'll love you forever!

lol! I just listen to the song and you know what I don't understand any of it. I thought it was Chinese [mandrain]. Too bad I can't understand Cantonese. I know some of the words in the written lyric. The question is are they going to translate the same???

The song has a really nice feel to it though. I'll ask my sister-in-law [she speaks cantonese] and see if she can help me translate it.

You know Mandrain and Cantonese sound really different from each other. Are they written the same????

FM-Chan

P.S. I find it really funny that you thought I was white.

Yes, I'm aware of the fact that Mandarin and Cantonese sound differently. And they are written the same! Always! It's just spoken differently. People don't actually talk in Cantonese how they write in Chinese but the writing is the same no matter what dialect Chinese people speak. So yeah, they do translate the same.

You've always given me a "white" vibe. But then again, I naturally assume people are white until they've proven otherwise.

The bad news is that I looked for my Chinese dictionary but can't find it anymore [darn it all]. It's been so long since I translate Chinese pot chapters. The good news is I ask my brother what it means. He says the line you want to know translate to "My unhappiness and anger".

How come the title of the song translates to Daddy's soda? Is that some sort of Cantonese expression?

Yeah, Babelfish gave me the same translation for the line I like.

I have no idea why the song is called Daddy's soda. If it's a Cantonese expression, then I have never heard of it before.
