I feel like I'm cheating on my internet browser. I mean, I felt kinda crappy about switching from IE to Firefox but when IE was upgraded to 8, it didn't really feel like IE to me anymore, just a Firefox wannabe so I didn't feel as bad as I thought I would. Besides, that Ad-block thingie is kinda sorta awesome.
But then Firefox decided to do this Plugin Container thing, which went crazy every time I played FV and Firefox with a bunch of tabs uses a hell of a lot of computer resources so I took a page out of
beckymarie and decided to use Google Chrome just for FV. It certainly lowered the amount of BSOD and Firefox crashes I was getting so I'm certainly happy about that.
Still, when you're playing FV and you need to suddenly search for something on the web, you don't just go and open a whole new broswer for it, right? Just another tab in the one you're already using. And then you start reading a fanfic in a separate tab from your game and the next thing you know, it's not just one fanfic, it's two and you've even got a Wikipedia article opened up and then you realized you just forsook (this word looks so wrong to me and I think it's the first time I've ever written it before in my entire life) Firefox for Chrome. But you still like Firefox better!
I should finish my fic so I can go back to it... Maybe it won't hold it against me and do another nasty Firefox crash in retaliation...

on 2011-01-29 06:02 pm (UTC)And you hit on the reason I've started using delicious so much--I put the bookmarking extention on Chrome, so whenever I start reading something I want to pick up (and I get tired of constantly having an endless Word file open to c&p urls), I just put it on delicious and then open it up in Firefox when I go back to that. (Because I really enjoy having Chrome, but Firefox is the browser of my heart forever. ♥)
....I realize how super nerdy all of that is, just to play Facebook games. orz

on 2011-01-30 03:24 pm (UTC)And you were totally right -- Chrome handles Farmville so much better than Firefox. And with less system resources used too which makes me wonder what is up with Firefox that it can't be as awesome in that respect.
My problem is that I still have Firefox as my default browser so whenever I click on a link in Outlook, it always sends me back to it. And when you're in the middle of Farmville and Firefox opens with 10 tabs, bad things happen (or are bound to happen). ><

on 2011-01-31 05:50 pm (UTC)Still, I'd like to see Chrome catch up to Firefox, cause I think google has better software overall. But they won't block ads cause that's how they make money they say... but when the ad takes up your whole page and is absurdly annoying the way ff.net ads are... DX
